International Center for Korean Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University  

The International Center for Korean Studies of Moscow State University (ICFKS of MSU) was founded by the Honoured Professor of Moscow State University, Doctor of History Pak Mikhail Nikolaevich (1918-2009), who was appointed the Director of ICFKS and held the position till autumn, 2008.

The Center was founded in the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University in March, 1991 for the aim of realization the wider and more profound studying Korea, the Korean language, history, culture, economy, politics of this country, and also for preparing the scientific staff of koreanists of the top skills, capable to provide the decision of this task.

Accepted by the Academic Council of IAAS of MSU, "The Regulations About the International Center for Korean Studies" (January, 1992) determined the tasks of ICFKS as scientific division of MSU.
